Anna N. Schlegel | The Truly Global Catalan

Anna N. Schlegel, born Anna Navarro Descals in the Garrotxa region of Catalonia, located a few hours north of Barcelona, was only 23 when she moved to the United States to start her first business in a garage. Today, Anna is the Vice-President of Global at ProCore Technologies and a globally recognised professional with extensive experience driving global market growth. Over the past 30 years, she has led globalisation, PLC, engineering, international product, technical content, corporate strategy, and marketing teams at several top technology companies in the Silicon Valley, including Cisco Systems, Google, VeriSign, VMware, Xerox, and NetApp. Her work has been published in various industry forums, including Forbes, Fortune, the European Union, Gala-Global, and Multilingual. Anna has also consulted for Google's International Product Team throughout her career and has been a requested speaker at universities worldwide.

Besides her professional achievements, Anna is a member of three global boards and a Catalan DIPLOCAT. She presides over the Catalan International Economic Circle study on Women. She continues her philanthropic work with non-profits she has co-founded, such as Women in Localization and STEMentors Silicon Valley. In December 2021, the Catalan government awarded Anna the "Creu de Sant Jordi" Medal of Honor for her leading efforts in Technology and Business, the highest honour given to a Catalan national.
